I'm Plumb Wored Out!!!!!!

Howdy Agin' Ya'll,

Yes, I'm tired. For several years I've been blaming it on middle-age, iron poor blood, lack of vitamins, air pollution, water pollution, saccharin, obesity, dieting, under-arm odor, yellow wax build-up and a dozen other maladies that make you wonder if life is really worth living.

But now, I find out, it ain't that at all.
I'm tired because I am plumb overworked!!!!

The population of this country is 200 million. Eighty-four million are retired, That leaves 116 million to do the work. There are 75 million in school, which leaves 41 million to do the work. Of this total there are 22 million employed by the government, that leaves 19 million to do the work.

Four million are in the armed forces, which leaves 15 million to do the work. Take from that the total of 14,800,000 people who work for state and city governments and that leaves 200,000 to do the work. There are 188,000 in hospitals, so that leaves 12,000 to do the work.

Now, there are 11,998 people in prisons, so that leaves just two people to do the work. You and me.
And YOU"RE sitting there reading this!!!!

NO WONDER I'M TIRED !!!!!!!!!!!

Don't sweat it too much, I ain't, I'm gone fishing and relaxin'.

The Day Came...and Went!!!

Howdy Ya'll,
Well the big day done come and gone and all I got was a big bill!! Not really to big, but nothing that I can't handle.
We had a dandy good time just being with ourselves and then later going to Brandon and Rebecca's for the evening. I worked on several little projects around the house and tried to help out where I could. We had a good time watching Ben opening his gifts. It is hard to believe that little crackerjack is already 16 years old. He was such a cute little booger and I think we picked him at the right time, but man has he growed... and growed... and growed. If'n I didn't know any better I would've thunk that he was almost an adult. Why it seems like just the other day I was givin' him a buzz haircut and he enjoyed it, but now he don't even like me to give him a trim. I asked him the other day if'n he wanted a hair cut and he asked me, "Which one would I like to cut?" Boy when ya get tecknikal like that it just makes ya wonder if he really ain't cut out ta be a engineer. Anyway that is what he plans on being with a little help from mum and pop. I wish him the best of luck and hope he does it, for his sake and the future he will create.
Today is a day I hope to get some things done so I won't be so pushed in the future. I got a big list and I done checked it twice and now that Christmas come and gone I ain't gotta worry about bein' naughty or nice. (Just Kiddin')!!!! Jiminy Crickets some of ya'll are so touchy... Anyway I try to be nice all the time. I know that some little eyeballs is watchin' and I don't want to cause 'em problems when they grow up.
'Nough jabberin'.

The Day Before the Nite Before...

Howdy to ya'll and how ya'll were?
'Twas the day before the nite before Christmas and all through the house the food was on the table and we were standing about. The conversation ended and the food started to disappear, of that there is no doubt. It was all so good that we stuffed ourselves and then sacked out, (sorta).
The day of get together was a great success thanks to the hospitality of my sister and her husband. I got to see all my siblings and some of their offspring. The food was awesome and watching the youngsters play was totally enjoyable.
It is amazing how fast we are getting older, ...well, some of us are. The rest of us are just getting better.hehe
I know I haven't updated for a while so I thought I would hop to it and do it!!! There hasn't been a whole lot goin' on in this neck of the weeds, er woods. The trees have all lost their hair, uh leaves. The air has gone chilly and the smell of winter is on the breeze. The weather is mild and not quite to dreary, uh-oh now I done gone and got teary. Anyhow it is pleasant and it sure helps out on the heating bills.
I am enjoying my time off from school and am trying to get some things done around here.(eat, sleep, nap and fish). Friday was my last day at work for the rest of the year and I am sure that it will take me till next year to recuperate. All the hard work that I am trying to get done is sure to wear me out. right?
Well I don't want to wear you out reading this so, I will let you go. Just remember, the more that you do is less for me to have to take care of. Thankeee --Thankeee --Thankee!!!!

We'uns Had Fun

Howdy Ya'll again,
Well here it is Sunday and man have the days passed by!!! Just the other day I updated and now I am behind agin'. So iff'n I can figure out the keys then I'll try to give ya' a briefup of what do be goin' on behind the scenes here at the ole homestead er, ranch, uh --where I live.
Ain't a whole lot happening except grabbing life by the horns and trying to make it go my way. I fixed up some on the little house up on the front and got busted by the inhabitants before I could get it done and get back home. They was a shore 'nuff sprized (and I think happy so they wouldn't have to do it.) But, either way the new winnder dressed it up a spot gooder!
Friday nite at work I had to go to the south plant and babysit a water pump until 1:30 in the morning. It got so cold that a fire sprinkler water pipe busted and dumped about 2000 gallons of water in the floor. The floor is sunken about 1 1/2 feet so we had to pump the water up and out so the floor would be dry enough to get in the building and make the repair. One of the first shift maintenance crew and my colleague from second made the repair the next day. I really felt for my buddy, he worked till 1:30 with me and then went in at 6:30am the next morning to help fix it.
Saturday nite, me Sweetie took me and the kids to see, "A Christmas Carol" by Charly Dickens and it were quite interesting. The special effects were pretty good and I thought Jacob Marly did a good job of shakin' Scrooge up. Ol' Dickens sure did a bang-up job of writin' that story and I thought the Fantasy Playhouse did a good job of dramatizing it for the payin' folk.
After the play, we headed home and decided to stop at "good ole Wal-Mart", (just to shake 'em up a bit and see what they had fer sale) seein's we ain't happy 'bout buyin' anything since they treat their people like trash. Anyway we ran into some good friends of ours and proceeded to chat until we thought the kids would beat us home. When we realized the time, we lit a shuck and headed for the house and just beat them by about 30 minutes. (It would have been by ten minutes but they had car trouble and got home later than the curfew.) We had a great evening with our friends and came home all tuckered out. We might have to do it again sometime -before we get old.
Anyhoo, I probly rambled on long enough to put some of you to sleep so I'll zip me lip.
Ya'll be good, (Santa's watchin'), Poppi

The Phat Lady Has Sung...

Howdy ya'll,
Welcome to another exciting edition of the Poppi blog news. (sorta) The semester is over and I have finished my finals and made a passing grade. I am thankful that I was able to keep up with all I had to do, what with all the interruptions that presented themselves in my life. I went to a counselor to see if I would still be able to finish up in the summer and she confused me so bad and told me that I still had 3 more semesters before I could graduate. I came home and told me Sweetie and she said I was almost done and then got the schedule out and proved it to me. Man is she smart or what!!!!!! Anyway after I got over the scare I celebrated by going in to work and trying to make some more money to pay for all of it.
Now that the break is here I have a lot of things to try to get done around here in the next few weeks. I have some small jobs for some others that I have promised to help them with also. If I feel strong enough I also want to work some overtime while they allow it. If it warms up just a teensy bit I want to go fishing. My brother and I went out last Saturday and like to froze to death. It were so cold on the water that if'n your nose run you didn't even have ta wipe it, - just flick the icicle off when it got in your way. Needless to say we didn't stay out long!!
Anyway I hope to get things done. I will quit rambling now and let you go back to sleep, but if you peeked in my window that is what you would have seen !.!.!.!

Howdy to ya'll and how ya'll was?
Well it has been a while since I posted on this contraption so I thought I better cautched it up! We'uns have been real busy trying to get done with this semester and keeping up the grades. I finally finished with my Hydraulics class and I am working on my Wiring final. When I am done with that test then I am done for the semester!!!!! YeeeeeHaaaaaaa!!!!
Oops, I guess I got excited. It has been a long hard set of classes and I had several weeks of interruption.
Well on another note I just finished my second week of 4 hours per day of work and next week I will go to full time again. I am finally feeling like I am gaining and it feels great. It has been a slow recovery and I am looking forward to being back to 100%.
